Cisco and the General Board of Scholarships and Study Aids of the Ministry of Education and Research of Madrid have made available to Madrid teachers, official training in networking technology, cybersecurity, programming in Python and Linux LPI.

The agreement will allow interested teachers to enroll in five trainings whose content is based on Cisco Networking Academy courses (NetAcad). This non-profit program forms in technologies every year almost 1 million students worldwide (25,000 in Spain), with the collaboration of public and private training centers.

Currently, there are 372 NetAcad Academies in Spain, 737 instructors and 19,000 active students. Additionally from digital training, students achieve abilities such as analytical skills, teamwork, self-confidence and entrepreneurship skills.

The training program is open for registration, begins on September 3th 2018. The program includes:

  1. 1. Network administration. Module 1 and 2 of the official Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching course. CTIF Madrid Norte.
  2. 2. Network administration. Module 1 and 2 of the official Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching course. CTIF Madrid Sur.
  3. 3. Fundamentals of cybersecurity. Official course CCNA Cyber Ops of Cisco. CTIF Madrid East.
  4. 4. Introduction to programming with Python. CTIF Madrid Capital.
  5. 5. Online course «Introduction to Linux administration. Official course Linux Essentials of LPI «. CRIF Las Acacias.

The pass degree of these courses will allow teachers to use later on, the contents designed by Cisco, LPI (Linux Professional Institute) and the Python Institute, respectively, to form officially and recognized students on their centers.

Today, 32 institutes in Madrid actively participate in the Cisco Networking Academy program, with more than 4,500 students accessing each year to one of the many courses included in this initiative, present in 180 countries.

As David de San Benito, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Cisco Spain, points out, «NetAcad aims to reduce the deficit of ICT professionals collaborating with the education system in Spain, including partners, Administrations and teachers. PUE, the Community of Madrid and the teaching staff are key pillars for the success of the courses. We are delighted to work together to facilitate employability and digital transformation in Spain».

The courses will be taught by PUE, through its figure of Premier + partner ASC (Academy Support Center) and ITC (Instructor Training Center) of Cisco NetAcad, which will manage access to content by teachers who participate in the training.

The expectation with this agreement is to increase significantly the number of students who will benefit each year of this ICT, trained profiles so demanded by the market, facilitating their recognition and employability.

«Thanks to the collaboration agreements with the main multinationals of the ICT sector, PUE manages and implements in Spain the worldwide Academy initiatives for educational centers and institutions», concludes José Antonio Ufano Ribadulla, President and Director of Institutional Relations in PUE.

The centers interested in include ICT training and certification in their academic programs through these initiatives, find in PUE a collaborator that offers implementation, training service, support and consulting.
